Ruth Beesch Honorary Lecture

Weatherspoon Art Museum (WAM) celebrates the first Ruth Beesch Honorary Lecture with very special guests, Eleanor Heartney, Helaine Posner, Nancy Princenthal and Sue Scott, who will discuss their new book, "The Reckoning: Women Artists of the New Millenium" (Prestel USA, 2013). 

Ruth Beesch was director of the Weatherspoon Art Museum from 1989 until 1997. Among her many achievements were overseeing WAM's move into its new facility in the Anne and Benjamin Cone Building, hiring an expanded professional staff, and gaining accreditation in 1995 from the American Association of Museums. In 1997, Carol and Seymour Levin established a lecture fund in Ruth's honor, and this is the first of these lectures.
